چکیده
9 The recently developed computer program BayesX provides a Bayesian approach to the estima10 tion of non-parametric additive models. Such models can be useful in applications when the effect 11 of metrical covariates (such as time) are to be estimated while controlling for other factors. In an 12 application of this methodology, trends in the height of West Point cadets in the 19th century are 13 estimated. The results indicate that the biological standard of living of the “middle class” increased 14 relative to the rest of the American society during the Antebellum years. 15 © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. متن کاملConstruction of trivariate compactly supported biorthogonal box spline wavelets
We give a formula for the duals of the masks associated with trivariate box spline functions. We show how to construct trivariate nonseparable compactly supported biorthogonal wavelets associated with box spline functions. The biorthogonal wavelets may have arbitrarily high regularities.
متن کاملAggregation in sensor networks: an energy-accuracy trade-off
Wireless ad hoc sensor networks (WASNs) are in need of the study of useful applications that will help the researchers view them as distributed physically coupled systems, a collective that estimates the physical environment, and not just energy-limited ad hoc networks. We develop this perspective using a large and interesting class of WASN applications called aggregation applications. In parti...

We show that the coding of a rotation by α on m intervals with rationally independent lengths can be recoded over m Sturmian words of angle α.
